Training and education is one of the foundations of a successful ergonomics program.
Training starts with awareness for employees, then progresses to roles, responsibilities, and accountability for supervisors and leadership. Additional training includes risk assessments for ergonomic evaluators, ergonomic design principles and best practices for engineers and designers, ergonomic principles and best practices related to medical management and return to work, and customized job specific training for employees.
In addition to training, communication and reminders are used through eLearning and short videos, newsletters, monthly tips, posters, banners and digital media to reinforce the training content and create sustainability.
